My book on The Fifth Estate (Oxford University Press) was published in 2023, so it was wonderful to get a Christmas gift of the book transformed into a different form – from a book to a complex paper work. I would never have thought of representing my book in the way Thurle Wright has done so brilliantly. I’ll show you the book and the art hung on a wall at my home, along with some photos of its development by the artist, Thurle Wright.

The book, with a cover illustration by Steve Russell, explains my view that the internet in enabling a ‘Fifth Estate’ through the networking of individuals in ways that create a new source of accountability in government, politics, and every sector of society. I see this as the power shift of the digital age – the networked ordinary individual. I hope you read this book and that this paper work visualization by Thurle Wright makes it even more interesting. One copy of my book was cut up into many pieces to create this work. Her original is impossible for me to copy, except in photos like the attached.

Thank you! It looks fabulous!
Agree. I’ve hung it in a location that people can walk up close to read some of the strips of text. It certainly raises one’s curiosity over the slices of text.
